   Masters in Social Work

“I believe that self-growth is vital to a fulfilling life, and I bring this philosophy into counselling sessions. I am looking forward to this journey of health, self-exploration and growth with you.”

Amy is a Registered Social Worker with 12 years experience providing counselling to individuals and families. She has worked in a broad range of settings across various provinces and cities. For example, several non-for-profit organizations and coalitions helping victims of sexual assault, domestic abuse, and human trafficking. Amy worked as a Social Worker at one of Canada’s leading academic hospitals, as well as hospital programs specializing in rehabilitation and complex care. In addition, she has been involved in community outreach providing Social Work services to clients in their homes. She has a range of experience working with clients with such issues as depression, PTSD, anxiety, grief and loss, stress management, abuse, addictions, human trafficking and financial concerns. She also has an expertise in helping individuals and families living with physical disabilities, medical conditions, mental health disorders, and those needing or receiving home care services, retirement home and long-term care home assistance.

In Amy’s free time she is an aspiring homesteader, which has been quite an adventure. Between my four young children, chickens, beehives, dog and cats, lavender farm, fruit orchard and vineyard, she says she is always entertained and learning.

In a visit with Amy, expect her to employ a variety of therapeutic techniques depending on what best suits your needs and personal situation. Amy feels that the most important component to counselling is
the relationship between the client and their therapist. Amy is open-minded, non-judgemental and genuinely cares about the well-being of her clients.
